Welcome! I’m Cathlin,

Individual & Couples Therapist

Hi everyone, as a BIPOC therapist (Jamaican, Irish, Chinese), I approach therapy with the understanding that there is a lot of resistance and unknown when it comes to what therapy is all about. My approach to therapy is that we are all on this journey of healing, and therapy is one way to help us heal. Using a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens, we get to hold space for your lived experiences that have caused pain in your life. We work together to process and heal and move forward to becoming your true self. Attachment theory is my bread and butter and helps us to draw connections from our past into our present to give clarity on the why of who we are.  My role is simple, I will work with you as a guide toward achieving your goals, uncovering patterns, reframing unhelpful thinking, healing from painful experiences, and provide you with tools and resources to empower you to live the life of your dreams. Therapy is a journey and it is in no means easy, it is hard work but you are not alone.

I hold a Masters in Social Work, I have been trained in CBT, EFT, and IFS. My values are to commit to creating a safe space for you, invest in my profession through trainings and resources, and attune to your individual set of needs as we work collaboratively together.

When I'm not working I enjoy going on hikes, bike rides, dancing, playing soccer, practicing piano and improving my French and Spanish.

Welcome! I’m Jackie,

Individual & Couples Therapist

Hi there, and welcome. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. Choosing a therapist that is a good fit and a space that feels comfortable is so important when working through life’s difficulties.  What I often see in client consultations and first appointments is some anxiety related to not knowing what to expect, paired with relief  about having taken a step toward addressing issues that are negatively impacting day-to-day life.  If you are feeling anxious at the thought of beginning therapy, you are not alone and I’m here for it. There may be tears, there may be laughs, there will be hard things, there will be great moments, and most importantly, there will be change.

I am an MSW and my favorite thing about being a psychotherapist is finding creative ways to enhance mental and emotional wellness. I enjoy cooking, yoga, reading, and gardening. I love to learn. I work with adults living with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, communication struggles, grief & loss, body image challenges, self-doubt, or just general feelings of “something isn’t right with me”.

My structured approach recognizes your emotions while offering practical strategies to help you manage your emotional and mental wellness. I use elements of solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT),  Walk and Talk Therapy, and mindfulness practices. My approach is trauma informed, and we will move forward at your pace.

I aim to create a place where you can feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self, where I will show up as my authentic self, relating as human beings. You are more than your current stressors. You deserve kindness and support while you work towards your goals. If you would like to chat, we can set up an initial no-fee consultation.

We believe it’s important to recognize and identify the experiences that each person carries with them in their journey of life. By collaboratively walking with you and being a guide, we provide a framework and plan that helps you to hold, process and grow with your story.

Being life learners is a big part of what it means to be human. We are continuously reflecting, assessing, and involving ourselves in trainings to be as informed, and evidence-based in our practice as possible.

Therapy is a conversation, and we recognize that it is not easy. Creating a collaborative and trusting relationship with you is so important to your growth. Each of us comes from a unique set of historical experiences, and it is our goal to create a space that allows your uniqueness to be held, honoured and valued.

All your parts are welcome in therapy. We are an inclusive practice that focuses on valuing all parts of you, your gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, and age.
